1. step – ACCEPTANCE
Everyone falls into negativity time to time, let’s make that clear up front.
Even the most positive people you know do get negative sometimes. And it is alright as long as they know how to work with their mind and know how to get back to a positive mindset.
When the phase of negativity hits you, the world gets darker, and you feel trapped in the circle of pessimistic thoughts.
The first step is to accept it, don’t fight with it. Take a moment to mindfully realize and admit to yourself that you are negative right now.
Taking this first step is essential for making the switch back to positivity.
Depending on the level of your mind control you might experience your brain defending against your aim to let go of the negativity. And that is completely normal as well – the brain for some reason even perversely enjoys it sometimes.
So don’t give in and instead focus on the present moment, and once you accept your negativity, you can forgive yourself. It happened, and it’s time to move on – time to take step no. 2.

2. step – SEARCH
Negativity doesn’t magically fall from the sky on your head.
It has its root somewhere inside your mind, and surprisingly it is more of a build-up of lousy energy overtime than a sudden breakout.
Search your brain for the seed of negativity that grew into the big scale.
Finding that seed will help you understand why are you feeling the way you are. And once you know what it is, you can analyze it and take care of it.
Sometimes the root of negativity is well hidden from us, and it takes long hours of deep thinking to find where those feelings are coming from.
Don’t give up looking for the root cause if you can’t find it right away, be patient and keep searching.
Have you seen the movie Shrek?
In the beginning of the movie when Shrek and the donkey are going to save princess Fiona, Shrek explains to the Donkey that Ogres are like onions, they have layers. To get to know their emotional and loving core you have to peel off layer after layer.
I say that “whys” are a lot like onions.
You have to keep peeling those layers to get to the root of an onion, of the real reasons behind your feelings, thoughts, emotions or stresses, and it may as well make you cry like peeling an onion would.

3. step – THE SWITCH
Do you want to be negative? I doubt it; otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this HOW TO guide.
You did the previous two steps to get ready for the last one, so here it comes.
You accepted yourself and your negativity. You found out why did you fall into negativity this time, to prevent it from happening again. And there is only one thing remaining for you to do – decide to make the switch back to positivity.
The power to make decisions in our lives is one of the most supreme powers we possess. Don’t underestimate it, ever.
I know that some decisions are hard to make and we get all uncomfortable and such.
But honestly, if you are lucky enough to live in a developed country, there is no one else who can make that decision for you. Be grateful for that as not every human in this world has such a luxury.
I used to allow myself to get down and negative very often when I was in my teens, and I found it almost impossible to reverse it.
I knew my “whys,” the reasons behind my negativity but my brain somehow enjoyed too much staying in that negative bubble as it was much easier than trying to be positive.
I had no idea how powerful my brain was and that I was always just one decision and mind control skill away from choosing positivity over negativity.
